So you have checked out the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM), and you are interested in applying. We are happy to hear that!
MSTP applicants are expected to have a strong background in science and laboratory research. Applicants in biological and physical sciences, computer science or engineering are encouraged to apply. All applicants should have completed, or will complete by the time of matriculation, the normal prerequisites for admission to the medical school. In addition, MSTP applicants will have completed advanced coursework in the sciences and mathematics through calculus. If you are interested in applying, go to the Einstein MSTP Application. All application materials must be received by December 1.
Applicants whose training and performance qualify them for further consideration are invited to visit Einstein for an interview. If you are coming for an interview, or want to see Einstein for yourself, click here for information on traveling to Einstein.
Qualified foreign students are eligible and encouraged to apply to the MSTP at Einstein. Our program has regularly accepted qualified international applicants, and will continue to do so. More information is available here.
Although most MSTP applicants enter the MSTP program directly as first year students we also have the Alternate Pathway. First and second year Einstein MD and PhD students who are interested in the MSTP may apply for admission to the program. Each year we receive several Alternate Pathways Program applications and several students are admitted to the MSTP via this route.
