The Student Health Insurance Plan coverage is provided through the Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield Deluxe Exclusive Provider Organization (Deluxe EPO), a managed care program which provides coverage for in-network services via an extensive group of participating providers and hospitals.

Participants in the Deluxe EPO plan may self-refer to any participating provider in the network without having to obtain a referral from a primary care physician. According to Empire, there are approximately 81,000 participating providers and over 200 hospitals in the Deluxe EPO network in the greater New York, New Jersey and Connecticut region. In addition, the BlueCard PPO program, which is available to Deluxe EPO participants, provides access to health care outside of the tri-state region via a nationwide network of physicians and hospitals participating in other Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO plans. Given the extensive local and national network of participating providers in the Deluxe EPO, out-of-network services are not covered under the plan.

The AECOM Faculty practices of the Departments of Medicine, Pediatrics and Obstetrics/Gynecology, as well as, the Weiler-Einstein and Moses Division hospitals of the Montefiore Medical Center, participate in the Deluxe EPO network and are available to students participating in this plan.
